You just landed here in Las Vegas after a long flight from your hometown. After a couple hours of listening to your stomach growl between rejecting airplane snacks and beverages, it’s time to sit down and have a nutrient dense meal. We did some power-walking around the terminals to find some of the most healthy food options here at McCarran.
HEALTHY FOOD OPTIONS AT MCCARRAN AIRPORT
FRESHENS – A GATES
If you are looking for a sweet smoothie to keep you full, consider the 20 oz. Acai Energy Bowl.
The smoothie is packed with Organic Kale, spinach & 14 other raw greens while blended with mango, pineapple and mango sorbet
The drink has 510 calories, 7 grams of total fat, 7 grams of dietary fiber and 5 grams of protein.
MOE’S SOUTHWEST GRILL – A GATES
Moe’s has a few fun foods on their menu such as the “Personal Trainer” Salad and the “Earmuffs” protein bowl. This is one of our choices because you can customize bowls and salads. You have the option to choose your protein, your favorite style of beans and dress it up with fresh and/or grilled vegetables and toppings to create your perfect meal.
FLATBREADZ – B GATES
When in the mood for something classic and simple, consider grabbing a made-to-order sandwich on freshly baked flatbread. The Southwestern Turkey BLT includes Smoked turkey, guacamole, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mild chipotle mayonnaise.
*Pro-tip : If you’re looking to save a few calories, consider skipping on the chipotle mayo and sticking with the guacamole, you’ll still get the creamy spread without the extra fat.
JERSEY MIKES – C GATES
If a sandwich isn’t appealing to you, but you’re still looking for a quick grab-and-go meal – consider a Turkey Wrap with Honey Mustard Sauce on Wheat. The wrap comes in at about 550 calories, 62 grams of carbs, and packed with 8 grams of dietary fiber and 30 grams of protein.
JAMBA JUICE – C GATES
When looking for a sweet, tropical taste, consider grabbing the Acai Primo Bowl that’s loaded with Acai juice, soymilk, blueberries, strawberries, bananas and coconut. The bowl comes in at 490 calories, 10 grams of total fat, 11 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein.
*Pro-tip: Trying to cut down on sugar and carbohydrates? Ask for the bowl without the drizzle of honey to save a few grams of each.
BAJA FRESH – D GATES
If you’re trying to stay fresh, Baja Fresh, that is…grab yourself an Ensalada (that means Salad here in Las Vegas). We recommend trying the Shrimp Baja Ensalada. The salad is on a bed of Romaine lettuce, topped with Shrimp, sliced tomato, Cotija Cheese, Pico de Gallo and crispy tortilla strips. Served with your choice of dressing.
The salad has 230 calories, 6 grams of total fat, 18 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of fiber and 28 grams of protein.
CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN – D GATES
Can you go wrong with pizza for lunch? The California Veggie has Baby broccoli, eggplant, Cremini mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted corn, red onions and Mozzarella. The 7” Lunch size pizza is 600 calories of circular perfection, 16 grams of fat, 91 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of fiber and 25 grams of protein.
